Icebreaker 

"I’m the Expert"

Students brain stormed about skills they're proud of; counting in a foreign language, learning spelling-list words, fixing a bike tire, or making banana pancakes, which could all be completed in 10 steps. Class reviewed a few how-to videos to identify common elements in this type of public speaking; what kind of language was used, how the presentation was structured, what types of visuals were used, etc. Students outlined the steps of their speech and created visuals illustrating key points. Once students were completed, they gave their presentation to the class. 

Daily Activity

"Achieving Goals and Time Wasters"

We reviewed internal and external time wasters as well as long term and short term goals. We went over our goal worksheet assigned last week for homework. We looked at each students goal to determine if they were SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound).
